On September 20th after enjoying a beautiful day on Ward's Beach I left my beach bag behind near the ferry entrance with all of my beach belongings - hats, bathing suit, scarves, book, shoes, insect repellent, sweater, etc. Lost and Found phone calls came back with nothing but I was told by Ferry Traffic I could come down and look for myself in Lost and Found. I went back on Wednesday and there was my bag! However, someone had "shopped" my bag and taken a new cotton/cashmere sweater, the full bottle of bug spray and my mother's favourite cotton canvas sunhat I got for her in Paris. I am so grateful for whoever turned in my bag but I hope that it wasn't the same people who helped themselves to my belongings. Whoever you are, I hope you enjoy these things that aren't yours. And if you did turn it in after taking them, well you must have some conscience. I have met so many wonderful people on my beach days and believe that this is the norm. Things can be replaced. I believe in Karma...

Hello, this is an odd question. We went to Centre Island last Friday (the 20th) and left the island at around 3-4pm. We were there with our two year old infant and she lost her favorite hat, we think maybe on the ferry when we were getting off. It was a present and it does have sentimental value. It was a small straw brown type hat from the GAP and for a toddler/infant. If there's any sort of lost and found, can you please let me know if it was picked up? Thank you so much

Paid over 500$ to bring commercial vehicles out here. When we tried to leave at 515, after waiting for an hour, apparently the captain decided to transport all the sunbathers and tourists back to mainland instead of loading on our trucks. Told they would return immediately to come get us and yet to see them leave port!

From the city of Toronto: August 21, 2019: Regular ferry service has resumed to Hanlan’s Point. Hanlan’s Point beach, Olympic Island and Snake Island are not recommended for use.
August 20, 2019 , posted by Doug
The ferry to Hanlan's is running. The city website says "Due to high water levels, Hanlan’s Point beach, Olympic Island and Snake Island are not recommended for use." There is still a beach at Hanlan's, just not as much beach. Lots of people still go there. There have been no lifeguards all season. The washrooms by the Mermaid Cafe are closed for renovation. There are temporary washrooms in a trailer nearby. These washrooms have flush toilets! But there are only two stalls for women and one stall and a urinal for men. So at busy times, there can be a line and there is the potential on a busy weekend for them to run out of toilet paper.

Good afternoon,
I just checked my bankaccount and found out that I have been charged 82 dollars instead of 8.20 dollars for my ferry ride to toronto Island, Friday 26th of July. (I got a picture to confirm this which I could send you). I would really appreciate if you could transfer the money I paid to much back into my account. The ferry was definitely pretty, but not worth 82 dollars.
Thanks for looking into it.
Kind regards,

With all this flooding going on, I haven't trailered my boat up yet. Waiting for lake levels to drop. The best way for me [and others] to watch conditions is to view the beach area via the CN Tower Cam [West view]. Its not a perfect up close view but you'll be able to judge. This past weekend I surprisingly saw about 20 boats anchored along the beach and a good 20+ boats tied up along the wall. It was too late for me to trailer up there but I'll be watching more closely. Keep your fingers crossed.

The center of the island is fine, slightly flooded but gorgeous as ever. Come on over!
July 19, 2019
On Sunday, July 14th we took the Tiki taxi to Hanlans Point beach (which is very flooded still, very little beach exposed in many places) and then walked through areas of ankle deep water and along sand bag rows along on the road to get to Center Island to catch the ferry back. It was fine, but definitely not dry. Could also of taken a Tiki Taxi back to Lower Spadina Wavedeck but we chose to walk. Regular bathrooms at Hanlans are closed but a trailer with washrooms is there instead.

Being Hanlan Beach is half Clothing Optional, 99.9% of all the people that go there keep to themselves and don't cause a problems. I go there several times a season and haven't run into this.
